Heritage language education in Ireland – Conference 2018

This one day conference brings together teachers, researchers and policy makers who have an interest in community-based heritage language education in Ireland. Heritage Language education is intended in the broad sense of any educational activity aimed at maintaining and supporting the language the children acquire from their parents, and that is not used by the majority of the population.

Some of the themes addressed will be:

  • best practice in heritage language education
  • history of heritage language schools in Ireland
  • teaching and learning in heritage language schools
  • childhood bilingualism
  • links between heritage language schools and mainstream schools

The conference will take place on 3rd November 2018 at the Wood Quay Venue (Dublin City Council)

More information will be available in July.
