A pilot project bringing ‘a creative, playful, storytelling approach to multilingualism’ in preschool settings in Dublin 24 will be made possible by funding from the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal 2022.

 

We are delighted to work in partnership with Early Childhood Ireland, the leading organisation in the Early Years sector, to deliver this programme. The pilot project, which will be delivered through home-preschool partnerships, is expected to launch in Dublin 24 later in 2022.

 

Welcoming the grant funding, Dr Francesca La Morgia, Director of Mother Tongues, said: “Thanks to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal funding we will be able to have a lasting impact on children, parents and early childhood educators. Language and literacy are key to the child’s development and adults can play a key role in enhancing language skills in the early years. We are delighted to be able to partner with an organisation such as Early Childhood Ireland, which leads in the sector and we look forward to inspiring more and more early years settings to embrace multilingualism”
