Spanish classes online

Level A (5-7 years old)

La finalidad principal del curso es mantener viva nuestra lengua materna y que los niños logren utilizar el idioma español para comunicarse con otras personas más allá de las de su círculo familiar. Las clases estarán centradas en promover el desarrollo de la lecto-escritura: jugaremos con los sonidos de las letras y de las sílabas para poder formar y reconocer palabras. A su vez, se estimulará a los niños para que avancen en la adquisición de estrategias para la comunicación social.
Las clases están abiertas a todos aquellos niños hispanohablantes, ya sean provenientes de América Latina como España o nacidos en otros países pero con padres hispanohablantes. Si bien hay pequeñas diferencias entre el español de España y el español de Latinoamérica en referencia a algunas palabras, el acento y costumbres, el curso se volverá más enriquecedor si compartimos nuestras riquezas culturales.

Nivel requerido:

Este curso está pensado para niños que comprenden y hablan español. Las clases estarán focalizadas en promover y enriquecer su expresión verbal y en iniciarlos en el proceso de decodificación de la lecto-escritura. Todo esto en un contexto de intercambio con otros compañeros en un plano virtual, donde los más importante es aprender juntos y divertirnos.
Aquí pueden encontrar una actividad propia para este nivel. Los niños deberán escribir la letra inicial que falta para formar el nombre de cada animal. Los padres pueden ayudarlos haciendo hincapié en el sonido de la letra faltante para que los niños puedan reconocerla. Si se sienten cómodos con este ejercicio, ya están listos para participar de este curso.

How to access classes

The course will be online. After the payment, you will receive by email all the details to join the meeting on the Google Classroom platform (if you do not receive the email in your inbox, check your spam).
To access Google Classroom you will need to have a Gmail account (a parent’s account will be fine). If you don’t have a Gmail account, you can create it easily and for free here: If you need help, you can watch this short tutorial.
The video lesson and homework will be on the same platform.


If you want to enroll two children in different classes, please register each one separately in the correct class.

After your registration you will receive an email notification with important links to access the course. Save those details for future reference.

The teacher

Maia Deluca will be the Spanish teacher for this term. She is from Argentina and a Kindergarten teacher, a profession that has been filling her heart for more than 10 years.
Maia has a degree in Psychopedagogy from UCA University and focused her work on children with learning difficulties.
Ever since she moved to Ireland, Maia has been working as a teacher in crèches, finding it really interesting to discover different cultures.
In her free time she enjoyes traveling, reading, cooking and doing puzzles.

Booking conditions & Cancellation Policy

Courses require a minimum of 4 participants to run. In the event of a course being cancelled, participants will receive a full refund. Mother Tongues aims to contact you a week in advance if a course is cancelled. Please note that the course or event description is intended as a guide. The facilitator reserves the right to deviate somewhat from the description in order to best accommodate the needs of the participant and the dynamic of the group.

Should a participant need to cancel 2 weeks or more prior to a course or event, they will receive a refund minus the booking fee of 10% or receive credit to be used within 12 months of the date of the initial payment.

Should a participant need to cancel between 2 weeks to 1 week prior to the start of a course or event, they will receive a refund corresponding to 50% of the course fee or receive credit to be used within 12 months of the date of the initial payment.

Cancellation or transfer requests made 1 week prior or less to a course or event will not receive a refund, but may receive credit or the option to transfer to another course if booking numbers for the course from which they are transferring is currently over 6 participants. If the request is made due to illness, in advance of beginning the course, the participant will need to present a doctor’s note and will be given the option to transfer to another course or event at a later date.

In the event that you are unhappy with any aspect of the course, please contact us immediately at The sooner we receive the complaint, the sooner we can respond to it. Complaints that come to us early will be dealt with on a case by case basis according to individual circumstances.

Complaints made at the end of the course: If the complaint is about the quality of the course, we will assess the complaint on the basis of all the feedback that is given to us by attendees – if the feedback is generally positive, then individual negative feedback will be considered in the context of the course description and whether the brief was more or less adhered to by the facilitator. Unless the facilitator deviated significantly from the course outline, then we will assume the course achieved its aim.

When you purchase a course or membership through the Mother Tongues website, your name, address, data, email, and contact number will be stored in our system. We do not share your personal details with any other company.

We may provide course facilitators with your email address so that they can correspond with you in advance or provide you with materials for the duration of your course. Facilitators are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose unless given permission by you. 

We may contact you regarding your experience of the courses and resources. This feedback and information is used to improve our services and is never passed on to other organisations. 

We ask you to respect out teachers, staff and other course members. Because of the nature of our work, we ask you not to share any confidential information. Because of child protection issues, you are not allowed to record online classes or to take any screenshots or photos of the participants.
