Mother Tongues is inviting interested teachers and early years practitioners from across Ireland to take part in a new network focused on improving practice in the support of migrant children and families.
All members of this online community of practice will be able to access toolkits and videos on best practice and participate in Zoom webinars to learn from experts and other practitioners interested in this area.
The main topics discussed will be:
- supporting the linguistic development of newcomers
- making the classroom welcoming for children and families who are new to English
- assessing language development and language difficulties in children who are new to English
