Russian Cultural Club Alliance at Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe
Russian Cultural Club Alliance was established in Galway 14 years ago to support Russian traditions and is actively involved in cultural events in the city. In this event audiences will become acquainted with an outstanding Russian poet’s life and his work which was not only an all-embracing authorship, imbued with clarity of thought, but also full of poetic intensity. The presentation will be supported by music, visual art and documentaries

Charlie Byrne’s: Readings and Radio
The iconic Galway city centre bookshop hosts the now traditional Culture Night literary gathering which invites readings by every Galway author who has had a book published in the last year. Encompassing, fiction, non–fiction, poetry and in any language, authors will read a short selection from their books. Concurrent with the event Galway Bay FM’s Arts Show will broadcast live from the bookshop, with ace presenter Vinnie Browne presenting an evening of live interviews and news, recitals, performances and sessions, drawn from the city’s entire Culture Night programme.

The Crane: Mick Crehan presents the International Ceilí Band
The Crane Bar is one of Galway’s best known traditional music pubs. It has been a haunt for those who love to play and those who love to listen to them. Le Petit Pois: Screening of Franco Iranian movie – Persepolis
Iconic French restaurant Le Petit Pois returns to Culture Night, screening Persepolis with English subtitles. Persepolis is a 2007 adult animated comedy-drama film based on Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. The film was written and directed by Satrapi with Vincent Paronnaud. The story follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian revolution.
