International films for children at the Irish Film Institute

This weekend the Irish Film Institute will host its annual IFI Family Festival, which will feature international films for young audiences. The aim of the festival is to offer children and families the chance of seeing some of the best new films from around the world for young audiences. The films are mostly not otherwise available and they can introduce children to different languages, cultures and societies through stories and interesting characters. This year’s films come from Ireland, Iran, Brazil, Kenya and other countries. Some of the screenings will be in the original languages, including Persian, Portuguese and Swahili. What a better way for our language explorers to discover new cultures and listen to films in original languages! If you wonder how subtitles are read aloud during the screening, visit https://ifi.ie/ifi-family-festival-subtitles/
